In May I spent about 2 weeks in Bali before heading to Lombok, The Gili Islands and Jakarta afterwards. It was my first time in Indonesia – exploring what this beautiful country has to offer and exploring my roots in the same time. I just started to realize how much I love to travel with just a not-even-so-big-backpack and asked myself why I never tried this before. Leaving all the unnecessary stuff behind and just feeling so good.
We explored the north of Bali (which was by far my favorite part of the island), Ubud and the area around, Canggu and a big part of Uluwatu. I can’t say anything more than I can NOT wait to go back. Which will be hopefully soon. I soaked up the sun and saw the beauty of nature in a way I never saw it before. The most dreamiest landscapes, just like in a movie. And I am thankful I met the kindest people, the most positive souls. Bali really spoiled me with the coolest people from anywhere in the world, the most delicious quality food, the prettiest sunsets and this unique positive vibe. I came home with so many experiences, adventures and memories that I needed lots of time to process everything in my head.
If you get a chance to go to Bali, don’t miss the northern part – although it may be hard to get to some places and you probably won’t meet a lot of tourists, the native people will be so happy to welcome you and show you the most beautiful places where you can hardly get on your own. People just smile all the time and I trusted people in situations where I could never trust them in Germany. I really enjoyed being surrounded by the balinese culture and I can’t wait to explore it even more next time. ♡

Thank god I met this girl. Making memories with her is one of the best things ♡

Can’t wait to be back.

We still had our shirts on that we put on in the morning, soaked with sweat, we felt pretty disgusting after this whole day. We had searched for our first accommodation for about one hour and now there was just us in our little rented car, standing somewhere on a street on the island. It was one of those moments where you think you would die for a fresh shower or a nap because there seems to be no functional brain cell left. “Okay, fuck this! Let’s search for some food. I’m dying. I think I found a cute coffee or something on Google Maps… let’s drive there and continue searching later.” We just needed water and anything to eat. That was when we found one of the most beautiful locations we saw in a long while. Do you know that feeling of absolute speechlessness when you enter a surprisingly wonderful room? The background music, the scent and all the people relaxing in the open… This place was simply perfect. Can’t wait to be back.
