In May I spent about 2 weeks in Bali before heading to Lombok, The Gili Islands and Jakarta afterwards. It was my first time in Indonesia – exploring what this beautiful country has to offer and exploring my roots in the same time. I just started to realize how much I love to travel with just a not-even-so-big-backpack and asked myself why I never tried this before. Leaving all the unnecessary stuff behind and just feeling so good.
We explored the north of Bali (which was by far my favorite part of the island), Ubud and the area around, Canggu and a big part of Uluwatu. I can’t say anything more than I can NOT wait to go back. Which will be hopefully soon. I soaked up the sun and saw the beauty of nature in a way I never saw it before. The most dreamiest landscapes, just like in a movie. And I am thankful I met the kindest people, the most positive souls. Bali really spoiled me with the coolest people from anywhere in the world, the most delicious quality food, the prettiest sunsets and this unique positive vibe. I came home with so many experiences, adventures and memories that I needed lots of time to process everything in my head.
If you get a chance to go to Bali, don’t miss the northern part – although it may be hard to get to some places and you probably won’t meet a lot of tourists, the native people will be so happy to welcome you and show you the most beautiful places where you can hardly get on your own. People just smile all the time and I trusted people in situations where I could never trust them in Germany. I really enjoyed being surrounded by the balinese culture and I can’t wait to explore it even more next time. ♡

recipe on marybeniga german blog: food post - chocolate banana healthy quick oatmeal with nuts for winter, breakfast

Guten Appetit ♡

I love having something warm and chocolatey for breakfast on cold winter days. Making this oatmeal takes only 5 minutes and it’s super simple and healthy which is why I love it so much!

1 ripe banana
50g oats
1 tbsp raw cocoa powder
1 tsp cinnamon
150ml plant based milk (I used almond milk)

Scrunch banana with a fork. It should be as ripe as possible to give the meal some sweetness 🙂 Bring all ingredients to a boil, add some water for consistency if needed and let thicken for some minutes. Add your favorite toppings – I used cocoa nibs, walnuts and some homemade granola with pecan nuts. Enjoy
